My new favorite TV shows

Hello Cyberworld,

Alright as most of you know, I claim not to watch Television very often. I lied. In the past month I have watched more television than my entire college career. So, what is better than me passing my lovely knowledge on to you wonderful people?

My new favorite show is Accidentally on Purpose. People this is a great feel good, cute, and funny comedy that leaves a smile on your face. Jenna Elfman is adorably funny and plays a totally different character than her Dharma and Greg days, and the eye candy Jon Foster is adorable. The premise of the show is Billie, Jenna Elfman, gets pregnant after a one night stand with Zach, Jon Foster, and how they are going to raise the baby. Billie is an established critic for a newspaper and Jon is a 23 year old culinary student.

Monday nights on CBS rock, with How I Met Your Mother, Accidentally on Purpose, and Two and a Half Men. And if you’re looking for a little late night action The Big Bang Theory is a pretty good watch.

As for shows that I have watch and I STRONGLY suggest against, would have to be NBC's new The Sing Off. Nick Lachey is the host and the guy is as entertaining and funny as a door knob (sorry Nick). They make so many references to the show being vocals only, no instruments that my friends and I turned it into a drinking game…and don’t forget about the references of the swan song. I would strongly suggest watching the contestants performances, even though some of the best were voted off by the judges (Socals and Noteworthy), but are defiantly entertaining...GO Beelzebubs!!!!

Alright kids, now go watch some TV!

Twilight Saga: New Moon

Wow, can I say hot body? Seeing Taylor Lautner with his shirt off was the highlight of this movie. Taylor Lautner body is insane, however a smokin’ body can’t make up for the mediocre acting of Lautner's fellow cast members. The film is much better than its predecessor, Twilight. However, Kristen Stewart still has that stupid look on her face the entire move like someone is always saying something very serious and Robert Pattinson is still a disappointing Edward. All in all, the movie was decent and followed the book well. I'd give it 2 1/2 apples.

Aliens in the Attic gets an A+

I started viewing this movie with very low expectations; however, this mentatlity was quickly changed by the cute aliens, and hilarious humor.  There are many times that I laughed out loud, LOUDLY during this film.  It was extremely amusing and had you walk away with a smile on your face.  Great feel good film with a decient plot and storyline. 4 1/2 apples!

Inkheart, okay for a Brendan Fraser film

Brendan Fraser seems to have hit a wall after the blockbuster smash, The Mummy.  This is a cute movie to watch if you need to entertain some children or would like to revisit your childhoodself.  The storyline is consistant and flows well while reminding the audience of characters from their favorite childhood stories.  I give this  2 and 3/4 apples.

My Top 5 Movies That I Could Watch a Million Times

1.) Just Friends-I love this movie SOOO much!  I probably watch it a few times every year.  The slap stick comedy in this is just priceless.
2.) The Orginal Batman's (minus the one with Geroge Clooney, that just sucked), the Dark Knight is pretty insane as well.
3.) Boondock Saints-this is a cult classic!  I love the accents and intensity.
4.) Happy Gilmore (and pretty much any of Adam Sandler's early work)-Great humor, great laughs.
5.) Pan's Labrynth-This is just plain amazing.

Now go out and watch them and let me know what you think!

Law-abiding Citizens a surprisingly good movie

I walked into this movie with the mentality that it was just another ridiculous action movie with little to no plot, lots of explosions, and violence. To my surprise it was actually quite intriguing. There was a clear and interesting plot with a few twists and good acting. I pride myself at being able to figure out movies prior to the big revile and I wasn't expecting the ending. I would give it 3 3/4 apples, which for being an action movie is pretty impressive on my scale!

This scared me half to death!  Of course it was just after watching Dead Silence, so that may have made me a bit more jumpy, but I didn't get past the first scene lol!

Skip the Orphan

Orphan's previews and promotions scared the bejesus out of me; however, the film was less than thrilling. Orphan had a beginning the had me guessing to how the plot would evolve, only to later find out the beginning sequence had really no substantial claim to the storyline of the movie. The beginning isn't the only scene that doesn't fit, there are many times when a character will mention a past event that never gets a full explanation of how or what exactly occurred. Orphan is promoted as having a "surprise twist ending", an ending that me and my parents figured out halfway through the movie. I wouldn't waste my money on this movie, 1 1/2 apples.

Couples Retreat, great couples date

Couples Retreat was a good date movie to see, especially with another couple. There were places that got a little serious (a good emotional tone for most females) and plenty of hot women wearing little clothing (GREAT for most males). The storyline was consistent and enjoyable and the humor was plentiful. Vince Vaughn doesn't break the mold with his character building in this film; however, I still found the comedy to be quite good. I would give this film 3 1/2 apples.

KurtHugoSchneider Rocks!!

I recently stumbled upon an awesome YouTube channel of KurtHugoSchneider. It has the vocal talents of Sam Tsui and the production talents of Kurt Schneider. The combination of these two talents is amazing. Sam has become a recent YouTube sensation of singing all parts of a recent Michael Jackson medley (http://www.youtube.com/user/KurtHugoSchneider#p/u/9/R12QVtuB0_Q) and my personal favorite the cover of Down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-vorcTAHGQ). Trust me watch these video's and check out their online show, "College Musical", also quite entertaining! Enjoy!

How I Met Your Mother is my New Favorite show

While channel surfing I have stumbled upon this entertaining show a few times however, for this first time I watched an entire episode last night and laughed from beginning to end. This show is a combination of the daily life humor of Seinfeld and comical attributes of Friends. Last nights episode, “The Best Night Ever” was a riot. The basis of the episode was a couple looking for another couple to do things with. Everyone who has ever been in a relationship knows that they are always looking for that special, “other-half” and How I Met Your Mother cleverly exploits this idea.
I have included the link the CBS’s How I Met Your Mother's home page, so I hope you watch the episode and comment on your favorite part!

Paranormal Activity, not as great as all the hype.

Prior to seeing Paranormal Activity, I heard one radio advertisement and a enormous amount of advertising by word of mouth. Everyone I talked to had seen Paranormal Activity or knows someone who had. I heard, “It was the scariest movie of all time”, “people where physically shacking”, “I couldn’t sleep that night”, and “There where people that left during the movie!” I began to hype myself up that this was going to be the scariest movie of all time. As I sat in my chair preparing myself for the horrific journey ahead of me, I curled my legs up and dug my hand into my date, only to find the first 30 min where background story and the scary scenes only came in short waves that where usually followed by more character building and background story. The movie was still good, with a ending that will leave you jolted. But as an avid movie watcher I enjoyed the lack of gore but left wanting more, more thrills, more chills. I would give Paranormal Activity 4-stars out of 5, a very good foundation for a film but just not fully fulfilling for the viewer.

The Invention of Lying...a satire on catholicism.

I was privileged to see a screening of The Invention of Lying starring Ricky Gervais and Jennifer Garner. While standing in line, awaiting the opening of the theater, I never fathomed that I was going to be walking into a film satire on religion. Originally, I was under the impression that I was about to view a lighthearted comedy at the expense of Gervais' physical appearance and social awkwardness. Gervais was the butt of most jokes until he begins to lie, at which point the film takes a dark turn. Putting aside the dance around suicide and self loathing for those who are not attractive and rich, there is the uneasy, head on collision of immorality and death, or to quote Gervais' character's mother,"nothing, nothing, nothing." There are scenes in which Gervais' character writes down a list of rules very similar to the Ten Commandments on two pizza boxes. He makes references to a man in the sky and a place where everyone goes after they die where everyone gets a mansion. For observers who can see past the humor overtones they are able to clearly see the undertones of bitter satire on religion. Why do I say this? Number one, the idea of a place after death is never thought of until lying, thus giving the viewers the idea that death is ifinate and that heavan is a myth. Two, Gervais then proceeds to write down rules to go to this happy place after death which Gervais states, "I wish I had tablets to write these on", obviously referring to the Ten Commandments, and finally when Gervais' character goes into a depressive coma, he lets his hair and beard grow long and wraps himself in a white sheet and wears sandals, obviously resembling Jesus Christ. The Invention of Lying definatlly had it's humorous attributes; however, if I knew the true premisis and undertones of this film I would have passed on the free screening and read a book at home.
